June 2025 Association Minutes

I. Meeting called to order by Jason at 6:31 pm

 

II. Updates & Consent Agenda

  1. Minutes - No corrections or questions.  Minutes approved as submitted. 

  2. Treasurer's Report - Amount in the bank is 341.56.  The amount at the Community Foundation is 637.31.  The total amount is 978.87. They are accepted as presented

  3. President’s report - see below

 

III. Unfinished Business

  1.  It got hot and we didn’t do Adopt a Street this month. 

  2. Jason is going to be consistent with trying to connect with Temple 3.

  3. Jason went to the dedication of the Lady Honeylee Livingston Community Garden.  This is phase 1.  There are flowers and vegetables.  There is regular watering on Tuesday and Thursday at 5:30 pm.  Saturday morning at 8 am.  It is open to the community.  At the dedication, the participants sowed wildflowers into the containers.  Wand TV was there along with 35 people. 

  4. Jason will get back on compiling an email list.  There have been a few new people on the Next Door website.

 

IV.  New Business

  1. Betty Warren is in the hospital at Springfield Memorial.  She had a heart attack.

  2. A Dog was tied again to a telephone pole in the 1600 block of Main in the middle of the street.  This is the 2nd time. 

  3. Lacie Elzy spoke at the last CONO meeting on June 17th.  She is currently handling both positions, Director of Economic and Community Development and also Director of Transportation Services.  She spoke of the possibility of an assistant taking over the transportation services.  She spoke of the microtransit and transit system updates, neighborhood cleanups, and other issues with neighborhood revitalization.  Jason said he would meet with her about CPNA soon. 

  4. The Ring camera came in handy for Dixie.  She had kids try to open her door but it was locked.  They were egging each other to try to get in and it got filmed on camera.

  5. Officer Toole has been promoted.  We hope to meet the new person next month. 

  6. You can still submit traffic concerns on the City of Decatur website via a link.

  7. Jason has not spoken to the park district about people parking on Clokey Park itself.

 

V. Calendar/Announcements.

  1. ADOPT A STREET - To be Determined

  2. NEXT MEETING - July 17th which is a Thursday.  This is a new Day
